Hello, I’m Debbie

I help people reduce stress and limitations in their lives so that they can live in abundant health, wealth, and happiness.

My passion is to guide as many people as I possibly can in the art of ‘Living the Balance’ in the face of today’s stress and adversity. For them to survive and thrive, regardless of what life may throw at them, and to come through with flying colours … because I know ... anything is possible if you have the right tools and the right mind-set.

Over the last 25 years I’ve developed a wellbeing framework that breaks down the barriers that stop people from identifying their goals, and helps them get what they want from life.

I love working with people, looking after them and inspiring them to be emotionally, spiritually and physically fit and healthy.

I have a background in medicine, working previously a nurse, so I know the human body very well. I’m also the current owner of a very successful clinic, Total Body Concept, where I’ve seen first hand the effects of stress, anxiety and overwhelm on personal wellbeing.

Seeing others rise up completely fills me. It’s my purposeful pathway. I truly believe I've been called to do this.

The mind-body connection

My medical training as a registered nurse has helped me to understand the human body and how it functions. And, what happens when it doesn’t function as it should.

This knowledge, combined with years of working hands-on with clients in my day spa and specialised skin clinic, has given me a deep understanding of the connection between the mind and the body. I’ve seen first-hand how wellbeing and physical health can be improved by a positive mind-set and a healthy routine. The body is always calling out to be helped, it knows what to do intrinsically, but we need to give it the optimum conditions for it to keep itself balanced and to keep healing. I have the knowledge to help you do just that.

Overcoming life’s challenges

Family, friends, a successful career or business, and the general juggling act of life itself comes with what I call “healthy and unhealthy stressors”.

I’ve trained in, used, and taught many stress management techniques including clinical hypnotherapy, NLP (neuro linguistic programming), diaphragmatic breathing, meditation, reiki, EFT (emotional freedom technique), and creative visualisation.

My own daily living practice includes these tools, and I’ve had the pleasure of coaching individuals and groups from young ages to late 70’s in stress management and manifesting techniques.

In Christchurch, these techniques have been thoroughly tried and tested by many challenging life events, including the 2010/11 earthquakes, which largely destroyed the city, the 2019 mosque shootings, and lastly the COVID-19 lockdowns.

The power of visualisation

I’m a real visionist. I believe that if you get your vision into place then you can manifest your wildest dreams. I learnt visualisation when I was 15 or 16. I used to ride horses competitively and I was coming up to a big competition. The day before the competition I visualised myself going around each of the points on the field in the top group, and on the day I actually came home to win the competition easily. As soon as I learnt my trick I continued to win my competitions, and whenever I didn’t visualise (I wasn’t completely focused all the time!) I would lose.

In the late 1990s, when I was working from home, I had a vision of the Total Body Concept clinic. I had a completely clear picture in mind, and I didn’t take my focus off that picture. I visualised the design of the building, the rhythm inside the building, and the energy of the girls I would employ. With regular visualisation I met my goals, and I believe that you can also imagine and realise your goals.

I practise meditation, breathing and strong visualisation techniques daily to achieve the dreams I wish to manifest. It’s fair to say they work!
